Gorham Martele Child's Bowl
Item: Martele Child's Bowl - coded A/HS - 9584/1000 Fine Silver
Maker: Gorham, Rhode Island, 1916
Description: The original A/HS bowl was made as part of the A/HS to A/HZ child's set during 1913. A second bowl was completed February 11, 1916. Based on the weight difference between the first (7.85 troy ounces) and the second bowl (8.10 troy ounces), the offered bowl at 8.055 ounces would be the later. The bowl, a Sample, was made by an unidentified maker in 10 1/2 hours, and chased for 25 hours by an unidentified chaser.
Condition: Fine condition. Interior gilding is intact and even the bottoms of the feet show very little wear. Looks like it may have been a cabinet piece. There is a period three letter monogram on the front.
